Procedure of Kamal Archana

Preparation

The puja begins with purification of the body and sanctification of the puja space. A clean altar with Mahadev’s image or Shiva Linga is prepared, decorated with flowers and lamps.

Invocation

The priest performs Swasti Vachan and takes Sankalp in the name of the devotee. Lord Shiva is invoked using Vedic mantras and spiritual vibrations are established.

Offering

Devotees or priests offer lotus flowers (blue or pink) while reciting Shiva’s 108 names or the Mahamrityunjaya mantra: ॐ त्र्यम्बकं यजामहे सुगन्धिं पुष्टिवर्धनम्। उर्वारुकमिव बन्धनान्मृत्योर्मुक्षीय माऽमृतात्॥

Aarti & Blessings
