Swarnakarshan Kaal Bhairav, also known as Narayan Bhairav, is a peaceful and benevolent form of Lord Shiva’s fierce manifestation—Kaal Bhairav. Unlike his fierce counterpart who protects through wrath, Swarnakarshan Bhairav blesses through compassion, stability, and abundance. The name "Swarnakarshan" translates to "the attractor of gold," symbolizing divine attraction of wealth, fortune, and all types of siddhis.
He is described in the Puranas as red-complexioned, dressed in gold, and holding a golden vessel, radiating brilliance and prosperity. Worshipping this divine form removes poverty, eliminates business setbacks, and stabilizes material well-being. Devotees believe he grants immediate results, especially when invoked during financial hardship or karmic blockages related to wealth.
This form of Bhairav is mentioned in Rudrayamala Tantra and the Skanda Purana, where Rishi Markandeya, guided by Nandi Ji, recommends his sadhna to eradicate poverty. Even Goddess Lakshmi and Lord Kubera worshipped Swarnakarshan Bhairav to restore their lost treasury after the devas–asuras war.

Procedure of Swarnakarshan Kaal Bhairav Pooja and Havan
Preparation
The devotee’s details are collected for Sankalp. The altar is decorated with yellow flowers, gold-colored cloth, and Swarnakarshan yantras. Devotees are advised to bathe at night and wear yellow clothes, facing north.
Invocation
Mantras invoking Lord Swarnakarshan Bhairav are chanted to awaken the divine presence. Specific stotras and slokas from Rudrayamala Tantra are recited.
Offerings

According to ancient Hindu scriptures like the Skanda Purana and Rudrayamala Tantra, Swarnakarshan Bhairav was manifested by Lord Shiva to remove poverty from the world. After a long war between the devas and asuras, Lord Kubera’s treasury was drained, and Goddess Lakshmi lost her prosperity. Seeking help, they approached Lord Shiva.
Shiva, through Nandi Ji, revealed the secret of Swarnakarshan Bhairav, the divine form who resides in Manidweep. Guided by this wisdom, Kubera and Lakshmi performed penance at Badrinath Dham, invoking this golden Bhairav through tapasya. As a result, Swarnakarshan Bhairav reappeared and showered them with limitless gold and riches, restoring the balance of wealth.
